"The DrumBus was an amazing experience at my after-school program. The children had a fun time learning about drums and of course they had even more fun on the bus drumming and learning different rhythms and beats. I had The DrumBus come to my program in September of 2010 every Friday. The children always looked forward to the Fridays knowing that the bus would come. The DrumBus also had activities for the children that did not require the bus. Mike taught the children Frisbee and Luna sticks which are both great activities for hand eye coordination, team building and cooperation. Facilitated drumming for K-12 for in-school or outside in our DrumBus, a full-sized, renovated school bus equipped with world percussion instruments for 20 people. This “mobile musical classroom” provides a captive environment to deliver dynamic, interactive drumming workshops. without disturbing other classrooms.
We offer:
After-School Workshops
- One time DrumBus event: The DrumBus will visit your school for 2 hours and drum with up to 100 students during your after-school program.
- Consecutive, weekly drumming workshops either in school or on the DrumBus. Held weekly each session is between 25-45 minutes depending on age and attention span.
- For example....either four, six or eight weeks, one workshop per week, with culminating event at the end. Students learn technique, various rhythms, improvisation and making music as a group.
In-school Assemblies
- Assemblies can be facilitated for multiple small groups of 30-40 over the course of the day, or for groups as large as 125. Pricing depends on number of people, total length of time and any travel expenses. Please call 801.649.4420 for a price quote.
